3 WEDDINGS TO INSPIRE THE SPRING SEASON

With our luscious gardens and endless greenery, Spring at Thicket Priory is so beautiful … and the weddings equally as stunning. Whether you choose to embrace the seasons florals and go for bright bouquets or prefer to have a softer aesthetic of white flowers, the options are endless – and all would suit our venue perfectly.

Lighter evenings and warmer weather mean you can take advantage of our terrace – the perfect place to hold your reception drinks, set up lawn games, and enjoy the sunshine. If you’re interested in having daytime entertainment, we can even set this up here for you and your guests to enjoy!

Lets have a dive into some Spring weddings held here at Thicket Priory, all bound to inspire your own Spring wedding…

Amy & Steve – Mr & Mrs Lee Est. 15th April 2023
If you had to envision a Spring wedding, it would most likely look like Amy and Steve’s. With the vibrant flowers and bridesmaid dresses, everything just screamed *Spring*. Green bridesmaid dresses have been extremely popular this season, and Amy chose a stunning soft sage for hers that made the bouquets really pop in the pictures. Steve even opted for a forest green suit which worked really well with the couple’s chosen aesthetic for the weekend.

Amy began her big day with some Laurent Perrier Rosé – a lovely option for the warmer months for an early morning glass of fizz whilst getting ready with your bridesmaids. The bridal suite is the perfect place for you and your bridesmaids to relax and enjoy getting ready together, with it being extremely spacious and airy, there is more than enough room for everyone – and of course the lighting is amazing for your makeup artists and photographers!

The warmer weather also means more opportunities to venture outdoors – Amy and Steve truly took advantage of this with their pictures on the grounds, from the swing to the bandstand. Their photographer Charli captured the essence of Spring with their photos, and the warm tones paired with their chosen décor complemented each other perfectly. Cherry blossom was a lovely addition to the ballroom entrance, and had significant meaning to them both, as they planned to honeymoon in Asia.
Overall, their wedding was just the perfect picture of Spring!

P.S. When your photographer tells you to run in your stilettos, just trust the process and run!

Words from the couple themselves:
“To Becca & Thicket Priory,
Well, what can we say? Thank you so much for everything and making our wedding weekend so amazing and perfect! So many guests have said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and a massive part of that is because of you! We honestly couldn’t have had a better weekend! Becca, thanks for being our rock (especially when it all got a bit overwhelming) and going above and beyond! Can we do it all again?!
Lots of love Steve and Amy xxx”

Chloe & Ollie – Mr & Mrs Norton-Lamb Est. 8th April 2023
Chloe and Ollie’s wedding was a whole weekend of fun centred around their bright and outgoing personalities, which their photographer Carla captured so perfectly. With lots of laughter, rainbow confetti canons and *the* infamous heart sunglasses, their day was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Chloe looked gorgeous – with the addition of her green shoes and bouquet ribbons to add a pop of colour. These added elements complimented Ollie’s suit and allowed the Groom and his Groomsmen to have that added bit of fun themselves. Another way to do that is through your confetti – the rainbow confetti they chose really added that pop of colour to their pictures.

A great way to capture some more relaxed snaps of your wedding, and that are the perfect keepsake for your wedding memory box or scrapbook, is an instant polaroid camera. These are also great to use for if you have a guest book, it allows you to see what a great time your loved ones had on your big day – and again, great for the memories!

A memorable feature of Chloe and Ollie’s wedding was the flower Groomsmen – they really added that element of fun to the ceremony. My favourite part of their day, however, had to be their two very special guests – their fur babies Manchego and Jacob – who, as you can imagine, stole the spotlight on many occasions!

Words from the couple themselves:
“Thicket is an amazing wedding venue, and I cannot recommend them enough. What really makes Thicket so special is the wonderful team there. They were great from start to finish – knowledgeable, always there to help and nothing was too much trouble. Anna was amazing and I cannot thank her enough for all her support and guidance. The venue itself is stunning and we loved being able to offer our guests rooms (all of which are finished to a very standard). Such a special place – don’t think twice about getting married there!”

Lauren & Tom – Mr & Mrs Mason Est. 21st May 2022
Although choosing to include lots of colour can be really fun, if you would prefer to go for a more neutral aesthetic for your wedding, Lauren and Tom showcase this perfectly! Their wedding looked like something straight out of Vogue – black tie and white bridesmaid dresses, need I say more?

If you’re wanting to have multiple dresses for your big day and need some inspiration, look no further! Lauren went all out for her wedding and had three dresses, all stunning and perfectly fitting the occasion. She chose a sequinned number for her night prior dress, a floor length floral tulle skirt for her ceremony and then the perfect evening dress, with a high leg split to add a touch of drama – perfect for getting *that* Hollywood-esque glam photo on the grand staircase!

A perfect way to make the most out of your stay at Thicket Priory (and a chance for one more dress!) is by making your night prior into more of an ‘event’ – Lauren and Tom chose to have a cocktail evening for their guests, giving them a chance to relax and mingle with their loved ones before the big day.

The start of spring brings the hope of better weather and more sunshine, which whilst in the Yorkshire countryside can be quite unpredictable at times, the weather really came through for them. With the addition of flowers and candles, they had a stunning ceremony overlooking the lake.

Words from the couple themselves:
“The most incredible wedding venue.
My husband & I got married at Thicket in May 2022 and Thicket Priory gave us the best day of our lives.
From the planning process to the big day itself they were so helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
We hired the venue for two nights which was the best decision. All of our guests commented on how gorgeous all the rooms were and how amazing & kind the staff were.
A special thanks to the amazing Becca for being incredible throughout the entire journey.
Love,
The Masons”

All three of these couples were featured on our ‘Barbie’ blog, where Jess discussed the features of Barbiecore making it into the world of weddings – if you want to read all about it then click HERE.
