You Are Cordially Invited to the Event of the Season.

Thicket Priory is the ideal fairytale location for your perfect modern-regency inspired wedding. In this blog post, we are talking all things Bridgerton for those hoping to find inspiration from the oh-so-romantic tale of the Lady and her Duke.

The slow burn trope, the Mr Darcy parallels and those last 15 minutes of Episode 7 (because if you know, YOU KNOW!) Season 2 was everything we wanted it to be and more. I now will only be wearing corset tops, puffy sleeves and oversized hair bows for the foreseeable future.

Florals

Despite the uncertainty and scandal surrounding Daphne and Simon’s wedding in season one, there was no denying that this scene was nothing short of romantic perfection. Taking place in the classic English chapel filled with rich greens and pure white blooms, the floral arrangement style that aligns with the Bridgerton aesthetic is very ‘English garden’. This aesthetic fits perfectly with the ceremony options we have here at Thicket Priory; whether you would prefer a Chapel ceremony or a civil ceremony in the Morning Room or even outside in the gardens, all three locations boast beautiful backdrops for you to say, ‘I do’.

Fashion

There’s something very darling about Bridgerton inspired fashion. A few signature trends that could be incorporated into your bridal styling are as follows: empire waistlines, puffy sleeves, soft sorbet colours and embellished shoes/hair accessories. The inclusion of florals is also a huge nod to this period; instantly adding romance to the aesthetic of your wedding décor whether this be through your choice of bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen’s suits or stationary.

The Bridgerton fashion style is all about the detail…if you ever needed an excuse to be unapologetically luxe then dancing your wedding night away in The Ballroom seems like the perfect occasion to do so!

Feeling of home: Pantries/Old Kitchen

One of the most important values we have is that we want to welcome every couple and their families to make Thicket Priory their home throughout the duration of their wedding.

Our cosy pantry areas are always much-loved spaces for guests to enjoy, providing the perfect setting to socialise whilst enjoying a hot cup of tea/coffee (and a biscuit of course!)

One of the biggest pressures on a wedding day is feeling like you need to be the ‘host’; at Thicket Priory our beautiful building becomes the host for you. Even if guests haven’t met before your wedding weekend, it will be as if they have been life-long friends by the end, which means you are able to just relax and enjoy your special day.

Gardens/Wisteria/Croquet

Our luscious gardens in full bloom provide the perfect escape with lots of whimsical places for photos; from our bandstand to our wooden swing to our three bridges over the lake. The terrace is the perfect place to hold your reception drinks, nothing beats a glass of prosecco or Pimms in the sunshine.

Having lawn games are a fun option for afternoon entertainment, we have our own croquet set that you may use but you could also bring other traditional games such as boules!

Our 2023/2024 diary is filling up fast, and so if you are dreaming of having your own fairytale regency-inspired wedding at Thicket Priory please get in touch HERE.

With love,

Jess xXx
