We viewed many wedding venues all over the country but as soon as we went to thicket we knew it was the one.

The venue itself is unreal. So many of these historic wedding venues have a dodgy red carpet and dated bedroms but at Thicket everything is modern yet timeless, instragramable but also practical … a bride’s dream!

Every bedroom has been designed beautifully and there are so many little details around the venue which make your wedding day extra special. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue & the rooms were.

Although we fell in love with Thicket for the beauty, what we didn’t know was how amazing the staff were going to be…. Becca was an absolute dream from start to finish, supportive, so kind & understanding throughout. We had Becca was with us from start to finish and I can hand on heart say we couldn’t have had a better person organise & run the day for us. Thicket think of every little detail and I’m forever grateful to Becca & Jess for giving us the best weekend of our lives.

“For years I’d heard people describe their wedding day as the best day of their lives, and truthfully I’d always thought it must be an exaggeration, until I got married at Thicket Priory in April 2023. It truely was the best weekend of our lives.

Anna and the team are incredible, a huge asset to the stunning venue. Nothing was too much to ask, and Anna put my mind at ease from the moment we met her to view Thicket Priory for the first time. We booked the wedding on a relatively short time frame (4 months before the wedding), and Anna was unflappable!

As a wedding planner myself to say I’m particular is an understatement, but Thicket delivered in every area. With a number of catering options to choose from (which many venues don’t offer you), we felt like we had control over what to serve, how it would be served, and the price point we wanted to work to, (would highly recommend Nomad Catering by James Brown). The bedrooms are all unique and kept to an incredibly high standard, the bar is very reasonably priced (especially to say they have you as a captive audience so could charge a fortune!), the grounds are second to none, the number of options for where to get married is a luxury many places can’t offer, and the team are just the BEST (cannot stress this enough).

If you’re looking for somewhere beautiful to gather your loved ones under one roof for a couple of nights, stop looking and book Thicket Priory. You will not be disappointed! X”

“Thicket was the dream wedding venue and I could not recommend them enough. What really makes Thicket so special is the amazing team there. Anna (and the whole team) are brilliant at their jobs and really made the whole process so special and as easy and stress free as possible. From the initial meeting to our wedding day they were attentive, there to answer questions and guide us to the right suppliers. They’re just a great laugh to be around too. Anna was there with me the whole way and made planning our wedding so much easier. Nothing was too much and she always knew what to say!

The venue itself is stunning and we loved being able to offer our guests rooms. The attention to detail is excellent and the whole place has been so thoughtfully finished.

“We cannot – CANNOT – recommend Thicket Priory more highly for your wedding. From our initial viewing right through to the day and all the support afterwards – the Thicket team have been phenomenal. Anna, Becca and the entire team feel like family and without a doubt gave our day so much magic – words can’t explain how brilliant they’ve been. The venue itself is fabulous – it’s unique and has so many little quirks: the little pantries, the haberdashery room, steamers for the wedding dress, handwritten room keys and personalised directions to find where your staying, and of course the hidden door! We had total freedom to use the space and create the setting that we wanted. We had a typical Yorkshire summer weather (rain all weekend!) but the venue is such that we didn’t need to go outside and could move through the venue without any need to be outside. And the team! Wow. They are a knock out. They gave us ideas and suggestions without any pressure of how we should plan our day. They made the whole planning process fun and even better, once we arrived on the Friday didn’t have to lift a finger and could fully relax into the wedding. We can’t thank our Thicket family enough for making our wedding weekend so so so magical.”

Autumn

“Every newly engaged couple in the country should know about this venue! It was the first venue we happened upon and we fell in love immediately. The building, grounds, room decor, range of ceremony spaces and exclusivity make it unbeatable. In our opinion there is nothing of this calibre available in the UK.

We were able to celebrate our marriage here in October 2021 having postponed due to covid. We were able to postpone with ease and the staff at the venue were always fair and understanding at such an uncertain time.

Everything about the planning and the day was perfect. Anna helped us plan every detail (down to the time my mum was due to have her buttonhole fastened on the wedding morning) so that on the day everything was seamless. The whole of the staff were a dream and made sure we had nothing else to think about on the day other than our marriage. They were working so hard in the background to talk with all our vendors and keep the day running smoothly! All of our guests and vendors alike kept commenting on how helpful the venue staff were and how this made the whole event so much easier!

We could never put into words just what the team at Thicket have given to us. It’s the kind of wedding we never imagined possible and we’re forever indebted to Anna and the team. They really are the best at what they do and Thicket will forever have a piece of our hearts!”

Our wedding coordinator Jess was amazing in every way, happy to deal with my thousands of questions, never made us feel like anything was too much trouble, and gave us so much helpful advice which proved invaluable to helping our day run as smoothly as possible.
