When Mel & Millie confirmed that Thicket Priory was the perfect venue for the GHD Royal Dynasty Global Press Launch we were over the moon. We quickly built a strong relationship with their styling team, Bob & Katie from Creative Styling UK based in London. They were a dream to work with from start to finish and worked together with us to deliver a ‘flawless’ event.
Branding
The product launch was for the GHD brand ‘Royal Dynasty’ which Thicket Priory ticked all the boxes for, being littered with crowns and opulence, stories and links to the British Royal family; including the fact that the architect for The Priory was Edward Blore, he was involved with the architecture of Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Hampton Court Palace and Lambeth Palace.
The products therefore fit in with the venue’s aesthetic perfectly, enhancing both the product and the spaces they were displayed, such as the stairway entrance, underneath the incredible Christmas tree or around the fireplace in the Gryffin Bar.
My personal favourite was the greeting guests received in the bedrooms, with an amazing array of gifts scattered on their beds. The branding did not stop there. There are so many opportunities to add your ‘signature’ to the venue, from your welcome letters, to blankets and even the mirrors.
Food Glorious Food; A Memorable Feast
From start to finish all guests were wined and dined with show-stopping food from Baba Ganoush – Dining by Matthew Hyde.
On arrival guests were greeted with mulled wine or mulled apple for any non-drinkers, and an 18-foot-long table displaying their Grazing Feast served in the Morning Room, which certainly took your breath away. One of the biggest influencers Sophie Hannah, described it as ‘the best she’s ever seen’.
Just in case anyone was to get peckish whilst there had leisure time to enjoy the grounds, their rooms and exploring the building, the Pantries were stocked with festive treats.
Afternoon Activities
Guests enjoyed an afternoon of ‘floral crown making’ in the Dunnington Room which was the perfect way of using all areas of the venue during their stay. This was hosted by the very talented Ricky Paul Flowers, who was also part of the styling team bringing the Priory to life for this spectacular event.
Get your GHD Glam on…
I think the photos say it all with just how much every guest enjoyed being pampered by the experts at GHD. Curls are definitely on trend ladies! The dynasty hair products were perfectly matched to the luxury of Thicket Priory and every single guest had a personal appointment where they were visited in their room to ‘get their glam on’.
Dinner is Served
Dinner was served in the Ballroom, surrounded by the beautiful styling skills of Bob, Katie, Dave & Ricky. The banquet table was candle lit and adorned with crowns and the most stunning table wear adding an element of opulence to the dining experience.
The moment Christmas truly arrived was when the evenings entertainment began with carol singing in the lobby, followed by a beautiful band set during dinner which had all the staff singing along, even if some of us were singing a little louder than others!
The table for dinner was kept as a ‘big reveal’ and the ooo’s and aww’s when the doors were opened was worth all the hard work put in by all the teams involved.
The dinner menu was pieced together by Ashley, Matt and the team at Baba Ganoush, who delivered a meal fit for royalty!
Bon Voyage
When it came to the time our fully relaxed guests had to depart, they were looking just a fabulous for their journey homes, jumping into branded GHD cars and chauffeur cars, provided by a number of our ‘Friend of Thicket Priory’.
