FAQ’s
Are there any penalties for cancelling?
In the unfortunate circumstances that you have to cancel or postpone your confirmed booking, this should be advised to the management of Thicket Priory verbally in the first instance. We do also request that cancellations are also confirmed in writing.
In the event of a cancellation, the following charges will apply:
Cancellation more than 32 weeks’ notice – Loss of deposit
Between 32 and 16 weeks’ notice 25% of the total booking value
Between 16 and 8 weeks’ notice 50 % of the total booking value
Between 8 and 4 weeks’ notice 75% of the total booking value
Less than 4 weeks 100% of the total booking value
The non-refundable deposit will be deducted from the cancellation charge total. The amount due will be levied, and payment required, immediately following the cancellation. The charge is made on the estimated food and beverage value (where necessary we will use prices based on the most frequently used items from the current tariffs) and is based on the number of persons attending both day and evening receptions as confirmed at the time of booking, or the confirmed final numbers where provided. This excludes bar drinks from the evening function other than those requested in advance by you.
Are there any additional charges for specific services?
This is what is included in the venue hire:
Exclusive use of the house and grounds
All 35 en-suite bedrooms for you and your guests
Tables, chairs, bar staffed throughout your stay
Master of ceremonies
Cake stand & knife, easel, integrated sound system
Spring water for tables
Firepit/indoor fireplaces
Dedicated contact & coordinator support
The drinks package, for example, is an additional cost to the venue hire – other services such as champagne towers, cocktail hours and z-beds or cots in the bedrooms are also additional.
What time can our guests arrive?
If you are having a two-night wedding, resident guests can arrive from 3pm the day before, and then any additional day guests can arrive from an hour before the ceremony on the wedding day.
For one-night weddings, guests can check in from 10:30am on the wedding morning, with any additional day guests arriving from an hour before the ceremony time.
