Kim & Eddie – Mr & Mrs Reinhold Est. 24th February 2024

After meeting by chance at the train station, falling in love and creating a family together, Kim and Eddie finally tied the knot earlier this year surrounded by all their favourite people. Their one requirement for their wedding was “good vibes” and after a weekend filled with laughter and love, I think they got their wish…

I don’t even know where to begin. From the moment we walked in, we knew this was the one. The day did not disappoint. Anna you are truly one of a kind. Nothing was too much trouble, you are an asset to Thicket, you were by our side at every step with a smile.
The staff are remarkable, always here but not in your face. The subtle glass of fizz handed. The way the kids were allowed to roam free without being judged.

A big thank you to Max for looking after Yohan so well. He couldn’t be happier with his special Thicket badge. You are excellent and should be so proud.

Lil, from the moment we met, I knew we would be in safe hands. A job beautifully done, thank you for being there with a glass of fizz when needed.

We couldn’t have asked more from the venue or team. Anna, thank you for making our dreams reality.
Lots of love,
Mr & Mrs Reinhold

We’ve asked Kim & Eddie some more questions about their wedding as well as how they met and fell in love, so continue reading to hear all the details and see some moments captured from their day…

So… how did you meet?

I (Kim) had to show my rail passes for free travel to get through the barriers at my local train station in Hertfordshire, Eddie was the one that checked them every morning/ evening. I was travelling with balloons for Valentines day for a promotion at work and Eddie asked for one. I said no. After that I didn’t see him for weeks. I found out later he was avoiding me because I wouldn’t give him a balloon. We soon got over that and started talking about our love of travel. Both of us were going/ had been to Las Vegas so we were talking about our experiences. This soon turned into missing gym classes to chat and then our first date at a local Mediterranean restaurant in the town where we first met. We had our last date before we were married at the same restaurant.

What was it about your venue that gives it the *wow* factor?

From the moment you walk in, Thicket Priory feels special. The public spaces for our guests were beautiful, having options of where you can get married within the venue is an added bonus. We had family and friends travelling all over the UK. It was important that we had enough space for people to stay, we were also adamant we wanted an exclusive venue.
We stumbled across Thicket Priory on a wedding website and thought we would go and have a look. As soon as we walked in, met Anna, and our boys crawled and ran around as if it was their home, we knew this was the place. The bedrooms are stunning with something for everyone, decorated in a traditional way with all the modern touches that you want, and the pantries are a great way for people to socialise whilst getting a cup of tea or coffee, and the sweet treats are a delight and went down a storm with our guests.
Thicket Priory is such an easy space to decorate so you can bring your own personality to your wedding day.”

When did you know they were ‘the one’?

Eddie fell in Love with me when I was in the hospital giving birth to Noah, We had him very early in our relationship. I fell in Love with Eddie when I saw how much he cared for me and would do anything within reason to make sure I was happy, but would never let me be too dramatic!

How did you style your venue? Did your wedding day have a theme?

We were quite minimalist with our theme and decoration as we loved the venue as it was.. We had a winter wedding so we wanted cosy vibes with candles dotted around the venue with blush touches sporadically around.

Who gets the gold medal in the wedding olympics for helping make your day amazing?

Anna, Lil & Max. I have no words for how amazing this Trio was.

From the moment we walked in to Thicket, we knew that Anna was fabulous. Anna was with us every step of the way, nothing was too much trouble, no matter the questions, queries or worries that we had. Anna is an absolute asset to Thicket Priory and we cannot thank her enough. On the day within 30 seconds like magic whatever we asked for appeared with a reassuring smile.

Lil was Anna’s right hand woman, we felt in very safe hands whenever we needed something. Cool, calm and collected. Always a drink to be offered on the day, a true professional.

Max was so good with our oldest son, he was able to ‘work’ behind the bar. Pouring non alcoholic drinks. It really made his weekend that he could do something grown up. It was lovely to see Max taking him under his wing and allowing him to make such special memories.

What’s your funniest memory from the day?

Falling over on the dance floor, definitely a funny moment to remember, Eddie’s face at some of the pictures that my lovely bridesman so kindly provided for his speech.

Finally, what’s your best advice you could give to couples who are about to tie the knot?

Your day will happen, don’t sweat the small stuff. Make sure you are surrounded by positive people that will be around to help and not bring their drama. Enjoy every moment, the weekend flies by, make sure to spend time with your new husband/wife throughout the day. You are the guests of honour.”
