The Mervyn Suite is named after Sir Mervyn Dunnington Jefferson.  Mervyn lived at Thicket with his parents and sister until 1952.  He visited the house with his family and shared his fond memories of tobogganing down the back lawn and shooting across the frozen lake.  He said the oak tree in the garden with the swing attached was planted when he was born and that he remembers being told that a treasure box was buried underneath the tree. He died in 2014 aged 70.
