Another amazing year of celebrations at Thicket Priory in 2025! Between the couples, event hosts, team members and all the suppliers we work with, it’s been an absolute pleasure!
It feels wrong not to finish the year with the tradition on the end of year poem which is always read out to the team at our ‘last family lunch’ together before heading into the Christmas break!
We did our last wedding of 2025, the weekend of 20th December and what a send off to this year it was!
Here’s to bringing in 2026, here’s to welcoming more wonderful guests, couples, hosts and suppliers to Thicket Priory, and here’s to an incredible team without which none of it would be possible!
A Year Like Ours
As we pause at year’s end, just before Christmas time,
Let’s look back together on a year quite sublime.
Not measured in numbers, or dates on a wall,
But in moments we shared — the big ones and small.
January arrived with no easing us in,
Five weddings straight off — “Right then, let’s begin.”
And the pace never softened, it only grew strong,
Forty-nine weddings carried us all year long.
From love-filled “I do’s” to events dressed in gold,
A Rolex affair — precise, sharp, and bold.
We raised glasses high for birthdays so bright,
A 30th, a 60th — a wonderful night.
We poured and we polished, we laughed and we ran,
4,266 pints of Guinness — now that took a plan.
2,191 gin shots, steady and true,
Proof that behind every celebration… stood you.
Beds turned and reset, again and again,
Over seventeen hundred — a quiet refrain.
The work no one sees, but that matters the most,
The comfort, the care, the invisible host.
This year brought us joy, the personal kind,
Amanda got hitched — love perfectly timed.
Ian turned 60, a milestone so clear,
A moment to toast to person so dear.
Even the cellars felt love through the year,
With time, care, and effort — TLC sincere.
Because pride shows up not just front of house,
But everywhere we work, quietly, like a mouse.
We’re more than a team, and more than the shift,
We’re the people who show up, who carry the lift.
We’ve supported, we’ve grafted, we’ve been through it all,
Like family does — standing steady and tall.
So as Christmas draws near, and we take a small rest,
Know this year happened because you gave your best.
I’m proud of this place, but more proud of you —
And grateful to walk into the next year as a crew.
