The Morning Room can be configured in different ways from an intimate ceremony of 70 to a larger gathering of 160.
We also have two smaller ceremony locations for more intimate occasions, the bottom of the Grand Staircase which seats 30 and the Jefferson Room which seats 12, this would be for the legal ceremony when using a celebrate for your ‘main ceremony’.

For larger ceremonies the Ballroom can accommodate up to 160, as well as the outdoor option of the Bandstand for up to 160 also.

Drinks Collections
We offer a range of drinks ‘collections’ which encompass a reception drink, wine for the tables and a toast. You are required to provide this as a minimum for your guests, from £30.00 per person.
A corkage service is also on offer in place of the drinks collection only. Any drinks which are not part of the drinks reception, tables wines or toast drink would be purchased from our Gryffin Bar.

The Bar
Our wonderful bar has lounge seating, an open fire and stocks a large array of wines, beers and spirits for your guests to enjoy.

Thicket Priory Spring Water
Thicket Priory is blessed with its very own spring. Its crystal-clear water has been slowly filtered for over 1000 years through ancient York stone. Available for the table. See here…

Accessibility
Thicket Priory prides itself on being one of the few venues of its kind with excellent accessibility. All the Garden bedrooms are fully accessible as are the reception rooms, rest rooms and parking.

Civil Ceremonies or Partnerships
When you have decided on Thicket Priory as the venue for your dream wedding, the first thing you need to do is organise your ceremony. You will have to book a registrar for your civil ceremony direct with Selby Registration Office. Please take a look at their website www.northyorks.gov.uk/selby-registration-office. You can call them on 01609 780 780 or email them at [email protected]

Privacy
At Thicket Priory your privacy is completely assured. There is a long private drive and we are surrounded by a wetland nature reserve on three sides. Please explore the external views of our Virtual Tour.

Marquees
For most events the ballroom is more than sufficient. However, should you require it, we have lawn space to accommodate a large marquee (we can help with recommendations for this). It is adjacent to the main building, with access to power and water. Additional charges may apply

Local Area
Few cities in the world can rival York for history and character. A picturesque riverside city encircled by a ribbon of ancient walls, York has a fascinating provenance that stretches back 2,000 years. Being a 20-minute drive from the second most visited city in the UK after London will surely be an additional attraction for your guests, who may even decide to extend their stay.

Wifi
Wi-Fi is available throughout the Priory.

Parking
There are 30 parking spaces to the front of the Thicket Priory and over 100 spaces in the grassed overflow car park. Coaches can access the drive and can turn in front of the house.

Candles
We allow candles in the main ballroom and in the bar. However, these must be contained within a holder, lantern or hurricane glass. We do not allow candles elsewhere in the building, unless they are LED.

Fireworks / Chinese Lanterns
As we are surrounded by a beautiful nature reserve, sadly we cannot allow fireworks or Chinese Lanterns.
