Anna and Ched welcomed their guests on Friday afternoon for their pre-wedding celebrations, guests were able to enjoy the gardens and the cosy bar area as they made their introductions. Having all of their guests together for the two nights meant that they were able to extend their celebrations and make the most of their time spent together!
Why did you choose Thicket Priory for your wedding venue?
“We chose Thicket Priory for our wedding venue as the house and grounds were magnificent and like nothing we had seen before! The fact that everything is under one roof is just fantastic. There was such a great feel to the building as soon as we stepped inside and the beautiful bedrooms meant our family could stay all together. The onsite chapel is really impressive and meant we could have a lovely intimate ceremony with all our guests.”
What was your favourite detail about our building/grounds?
“There’s so many! It’s so difficult to choose a favourite but one of them would be the suites where the bride and groom get ready. The Buckingham suite where myself, my Mum and bridesmaids got ready was the perfect space with so much natural light and space and was the perfect backdrop for some photographs before the ceremony. On the morning of the wedding we were peeping out the window as guests were arriving with drinks out on the terrace, it was so exciting!”
Our Buckingham Suite and Vavasour Suite both have huge open windows which allows the light to cascade around creating the perfect bright and airy setting to get ready the morning of the wedding. Both the Bridal and Grooms party were able to relax and enjoy their private spaces together, which added to the pre-ceremony excitement.
I think their photographs speak for themselves, Carla has so perfectly captured the love that Anna and Ched share for one another and the fun that was had by everyone who attended their wedding celebrations. We hope you love them as much as we do…
Where did your styling inspiration come from?
“I love seasonal styling so we wanted the style to be spring like, fresh and pretty as our wedding was in April. We had pale pinks, whites and plenty of greenery for our flowers and we thought this looked incredible. The ballroom is a beautiful canvas for styling! My bridesmaids were also in a pink champagne colour, and our stationary had the pink champagne ribbon to tie everything together!”

One detail that we particularly loved during Anna and Ched’s wedding celebrations was their coloured confetti, the bright rainbow colours added such a fun touch to their confetti pictures and really highlights the joy on everyone’s faces!
What was your favourite memory/s – together or separately(!) from your wedding day?
“We have so many amazing memories from our day that we will cherish forever but one of our favourites was our entrance as Mr and Mrs into the ballroom! The atmosphere was electric and to see all the smiling happy faces of family and friends around is something we’ll never forget.”
What would you say to someone who is thinking of booking Thicket Priory for their wedding venue (to hopefully convince them to!)?
“One hundred percent do it, we look back at our photographs from the day and just want to re live it over and over again! All the different spaces on offer in the house and grounds are fantastic. Jess our wedding coordinator was amazing and was so helpful throughout the planning, all the team were so welcoming – thank you Thicket Priory!”
