Come find your fairytale…

Shrouded in privacy for decades, Grade II-listed Victorian masterpiece Thicket Priory has been lovingly restored to create one of North Yorkshire’s finest private houses for exclusive hire only.

Dating back to the 1840’s and built by Edward Blore, most notable for his work on Buckingham Palace; between 1955 and 2009 Thicket Priory was home to an order of nuns and sealed off from the outside world.

Today our sanctuary of tranquillity boasts 35 en-suite bedrooms, a magnificent Ballroom that can seat up to 160, a private chapel, 18 acres of grounds, a private lake and a boathouse. Meanwhile a myriad of mysterious stairs and doors will make it feel even more like a magical secret just waiting to be discovered. And yet we are only 20 minutes from historic city of York and just two hours by train from central London.
